  1. Hi Sarah,

I looked at your facebook group, https://www.facebook.com/groups/399783840044204/ ,
and it seems pretty clear you guys are as much in the dark as everyone else.

To date, council and the committee have failed to make any of the relevant documents available. Previous work commissioned by council in 2006 is available, and the routes that include Wilson or Airey were excluded due to public feedback. In fact council then said :

“We have taken on board this feedback and agreed to explore other opportunities outside existing residential areas in Colac and Elliminyt.โ€

Yet some five years later, spurred on by yet another consultants’ report about “beautifying” Murray Street and Colac entrances, council and/or the committee have yet again decided to look for a cheap temporary fix that will direct traffic from the Princes highway through residential areas. And they seem to be trying to make up their mind without releasing documents to the public until it’s all too late. It’s disgraceful, and so narrow minded to even consider residential areas, whilst on the other hand paying yet another set of consultants to develop Colac’s marketing image as an attractive residential lifestyle. I pity the poor people who believed council 6 years ago only to have their “lifestyle” turned into a truck route.

  2. If you would like more information or would like to contact the RLC please email residentsforaliveablecommunity@gmail.com. We also have a facebook page “Residents for a Liveable Community”. We are seeking support from all members of this valuable community, not just those affected directly by the “options”. Let’s work together for cause that affects everyone, residents and business people alike.

  3. Why isn’t all the gathered the information being made public now, allowing ratepayers to have a say before council decides to give us the option of bad verus worse
