    Mr. Steel needs to do an economics degree. Increasing tariffs increases prices, not the other way round as he suggests. Also, the immigration policies of the 1950’s and ’60’s led to tremendous economic growth in Australia. Any Year 11 economics textbook explains why and how.

    1. That was misreported. I said that that high levels of immigration without out an increase in land release for new housing and the building of power stations and dams have escalated the cost of living to a point where it is literally breaking the community.

      Higher tariffs on cheap imports from low wage nations which themselves have high tariffs, will stop the slaughter of local industry.

      These are essential truths about Australia at the moment and there is the usual bi-partisan silence from our politicians. That’s scary.
