The Herald won the local reporting award for its coverage of the Colac Area Health funding crisis, which had threatened to close Colac’s night-time emergency care service.

“Top marks for research and terrific news writing that shone light into the corners of an issue of great concern to the local community and contributed to changes in the health funding system across the state,” judge Lisa Waller said.
