Temporary phone tower an insult

Gellibrand River Store’s Maria Koczak and Gellibrand Community House’s Neil Longmore are unhappy a temporary mobile phone tower will only be active when Great Victorian Bike Ride cyclists visit this week.

OTWAYS residents say Telstra has dealt them a “slap in the face” by boosting mobile phone coverage for a tourism event, then taking the service away.

    Apollo Bay suffers the same in peak season without the additional installation of portable cell facilities..Further Telstra has yet to respond to calls from the community regarding the problems and also when 4G service will become available..
    One should also ask as to what the shire is doing to to assist its ratepayers..

    1. There was an advert on the radio a moment ago saying Colac and Apollo Bay are now under 4G coverage… Yet this morning, Telstra said they are having problems in the Southwest area.
