Star forward Casey McDonald announced he had retired following the end of the 2017 season, and Wight revealed that a host of other Hawks had hung up their boots from senior football over the summer, including former coach Marty White, reliable defender Justin Robbins and former best-and-fairest winner Jesse Brown.
“Jesse Brown is only 29 but he’s had a few injuries,” Wight said.
“It’s disappointing to lose these guys because they’ve all been great players for the club,” he said.
