The club opened its latest grant round this month.

Meriba president Robyn Alexander said the small grants program began in 2014.

Colac Kana Festival’s committee is keeping a close eye on tomorrow’s weather conditions, with high heat potentially threatening the event.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, Colac is expected to reach 35 degrees tomorrow, peaking mid-to-late afternoon.

“At this point in time, the festival is going ahead,” Colac Kana Festival president Brayden Smith told the Herald yesterday.

Mango and Pam of Colac’s Mango Thai restaurant attended immigration court in Melbourne on Tuesday, but there was no final word on their visa applications.

Mango said he felt the court hearing went positively, but he was unsure when they would hear from the judge about the outcome.

A Birregurra community health petition supported b

A Birregurra community health petition supported by more than half the town’s population has reached Parliament.

Polwarth MP Richard Riordan tabled the Birregurra Community Health Centre petition in Parliament this month with 539 official signatures.

The petition, circulating during February, called on the State Government to continue to support the health service and reinstate $350,000 in critical funding that had been cut.

Sporting a new venue of the Colac Showgrounds, this Saturday’s festival theme is ‘A Country Fair’, and will see all family favourites previously enjoyed at Memorial Square from 10am.
